Dear Counselor,
I'm afraid of workplace violence. It scares me that anything can happen at any given time while in our peaceful existence. Today a gunman opened fire at a UPS facility and killed 3 employees, injured 2 and then he turned on himself after being confronted by police. Scary right?
Being a person that is in desperate need as I am homeless and living in a shelter and having dreams of landing a job and saving money and then getting off of the street and becoming a functional part of society.....the last thing that I need to know is that some angry and deeply hurt individual has decided to take matters into their own hands shooting up the place because they are mad and had to make a "statement" then he kills himself...
I mean no....that is scary!!!
Now I have to go hide for a few days and do some more research and pray that I don't end up in the belly of the whale.
We never know why people do what they do. He could have been a terrorist sending warning to someone that wants to work for another major corporation..the message could be.... YOU'RE NEXT!!!
What if that's me?
I've already had to not go to an interview because one of the locals is watching me too closely.
I don't mean to make this about me but honestly, I'm no stranger to workplace violence. It's scary and unnerving to live in as a stranger in a strange land and to have to do battle that way.
My heart is broken for the victims and the families effected by this violent act.
I actually lost a friend years ago that same way. He was shot, right on the job during another angry person's rampage.
My question is...what could have been done to prevent something like this from happening in the first place?
It had not been revealed as of yet if this was an employee so there's not a whole lot could be said. However, there are a lot of questions.
I will leave the investigating to the professionals.
I'm scared. Life is hard. I shall dear no evil for God is with me...us
Maybe I should go get a job in a padded room with no people and no weapons and all personnel are required to be nice.
Prayers for those effected...
Sincerely....

Canned
Dear Sir/Madame:
Today I was canned..
I was canned...before training.
Training was to happen 2 weeks after hire.
I was thrown a bone and told to heal. I could not deal.
I have no idea what they wanted or needed.
Don't you hate starting a new relationship with someone and they don't know what they want out of life but they have way too many expectations for you. The the main requirements is that you do what you're told not just verbally but also by esp. You are supposed to be a mind reader. You're supposed to know how to do everything but at the same time know nothing. Then you push to get info from them and your told to back off... Right after youre told to first give them the booty?
Well, that was my last employer.
I have no idea what they wanted from me. The job description was clear but I'm not sure that's what they wanted.
So now, I must move on.
Well..if I may.
Dear employers please don't hire people if you're not ready to take a new employee in. If things aren't in place it is ok to say so. If you want your new hire...please don't treat people like they need you more than you need them. We can reciprocate the same. Employers you need us too.... let's be friends?
Well!
Back in the saddle!
Sincerely,
