Disgruntled Employees

Dear Cannes not France,

My name is Limmie, and I am a disgruntled employee
How did I become a disgruntled employee?    My needs were not being met, that's how!!!

I have a rather strong desire to work in a safe environment.  Meaning, I don't enjoy being manhandled by my fellow employees, I don't enjoy being beaten up by the clients and lastly, I don't like being bullied or harassed.

I've read several articles on how to deal with disgruntled employees and most articles start out with this description of an attempt to create an all-too-blissful organisation, only to have that one unhappy character be the rotten apple.
Then there are the articles that highlight the warning signs of a disgruntled employee.  The grumbling, the absences, the need for counseling.

Well,  I rarely grumbled,  I was rarely absent, I sought the council of my supervisors and was ignored.   What caused my unhappiness is exactly what was mentioned earlier.  I was being abused!

I was fired for the way I handled the belligerent jerk-off that physically manhandled me months prior to this last incident.

I was disgruntled and (for lack of better terms) went postal on the day I was fired.
The supervisor was cussed out.  I slammed the door and yelled "F--- you" loud enough to set off a few alarms.   I think the U.S Marshal was called to follow me afterward.  I went home a.s.a.p by the way.  Later that day, I noticed a large police presence in my neighborhood, I heard the choppers and I was "flashy thingy-ed" while ridding up the street.

I am not the person that sought to destroy the culture, but was the one who was at the hands of a few more overly aggressive yet popular individuals that were allowed to keep their jobs anyway...

It is always in the best interest of any company that wishes to stay in business to address the harsh work environment to avoid any amount of criminal activity.  Every so often do we hear of shootouts in the work place, or on college campuses.  When this happens, it is almost too late.

We love the loud mouths.  We adore the complainers.  They come to work on time and do a great job.  They pick on the dweeb by the water cooler and everyone loves them to no end.  They still get to keep their job.   Why?

I think that it is worth the time to introduce a no tolerance policy in the work place that highlights and enforces company regulation against bullying, harassment, espionage and complaining.    It could save the blood pressure and sanity of many.

Sincerely,

L Boyd
